Art Curriculum
The Curriculum
Subject Lead: Miss C Wildsmith
Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they should be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. They should also know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.
Our Vision
At Holy Family we aim to offer a rich, awe-inspiring Art and Design curriculum. This is delivered through a range of topics allowing the children to improve and refine skills which are vital to progress in these subjects.
Art and Design promotes inspiring, rigorous and practical exploration. Using creativity and the imagination pupils investigate the different areas of these subjects, whilst refining the skills to produce high quality work of their own. Children will be encouraged to draw on inspiration from experts in these fields in pursuit of developing the ability to join them themselves.
Children's Art Week
During Children's Art Week, the children created pictures to celebrate and explore the work of Vincent Van Gogh.
