Welcome to Year 3
Class Teacher – Miss Ridley
We would like every child in Year 3 to reach their full potential whilst having lots of fun being creative and expressing their individuality along the way! Children will learn new skills and how to put them in place, especially in writing. In Year 3, we use ‘White Rose Maths’ as a starting point for maths lessons but enhance this with child centred resources to ensure lessons are engaging and very practical. This helps the children to understand and apply their mathematical knowledge and skills to their work. We will develop our love for books and reading and we will enjoy a multi modal range of text types to enrich our reading and ignite our imagination. The class will be encouraged to share opinions on whichever text we are looking at and make predictions based on information we know. Our topic work also inspires us to produce some fabulous pieces of writing and creative art work.
To find out more about our class routines and curriculum, please visit our Class Information page. We also have some really fun resources and activities on our At Home page, click the images above.

To help with the difficult task of choosing a new book, we have put together a list of books for each year group.
