Faith In Action
Year 6 are taking part in the Catholic Youth Ministry Federation (CYMFed) Faith in Action Award and are working towards earning their pin award.
The Faith in Action Award rewards the active service of young people to others and the Church, both in their local area and wider community. To achieve the award, the children must take part in Three Acts Of Service during their time in Year 6.
Acts Of Service
Each act of service and consequent reflection point is awarded credit points. The children hope to achieve at least 20 credits in order to gain the pin award. For part of the award, the children will be keeping a journal to record their experiences and feelings. They will also be working towards a final piece of work in the Summer term, and have asked three people to be their moderators for the program. Mrs Mustard has written a hymn called Faith in Action which the group will learn and perform when they gather to work on the award.
First Act Of Service – For their First Act Of Service, the children prepared and wrapped Christmas parcels especially for children who attend Colourful Dreams School in Malawi. The children worked with a partner to collect items for their parcel and then wrap them so they could be posted in time for Christmas.
