As we come to the end of another successful academic year, we are incredibly proud of everything our pupils, staff and wider school community have achieved over the past two terms. From inspiring classroom learning and creative projects to sporting success, educational visits, performances and community events, there has been so much to celebrate.
Year 5 Take Part in Inspiring Mini Police Project
Year 5 pupils at Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Darlington have recently been taking part in the Mini Police Project, a joint initiative run by Durham Agency Against Crime and Durham Constabulary. Over the last few weeks, the children have thoroughly enjoyed participating in a series of engaging sessions designed to help them learn more about the important work carried out by police officers and the positive role they play within local communities.
Sports Day Brings Team Spirit and Family Support
Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Darlington celebrated its annual Sports Day 2026 with two fantastic afternoons of fun, teamwork and sporting achievement. Children from Nursery through to Year 6 took part in a variety of races, enjoying the opportunity to challenge themselves, support one another and demonstrate excellent sportsmanship.
Panathlon Athletics Event Success for Holy Family Catholic Primary School

Year 6 Make Memories on Holy Island Trip
Holy Family Primary School, Darlington is celebrating a memorable day out for its Year 6 pupils, who enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Holy Island (Lindisfarne). The trip gave pupils the opportunity to explore the historic island and experience the unique landscape that makes Holy Island such a well-known destination in the North East. A highlight of the day was the walk across the beach along the Pilgrim’s Way, a famous route traditionally used by visitors travelling to the island during low tide.
Fantastic Day at Town Sports for Holy Family
Pupils from Holy Family School in Darlington enjoyed a fantastic day of sport, teamwork and celebration at this year’s Town Sports event. Children from across the school took part in a wide range of activities and competitions, representing Holy Family with pride and enthusiasm throughout the day. The event showcased not only their athletic ability, but also their strong sense of teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.
Festival of Choirs
We are incredibly proud of our wonderful school choir, who delivered a fantastic performance at the Carmel Festival of Choirs. The children represented Holy Family beautifully, joining with other Trust schools for a special group performance. They also took to the stage on their own, treating the audience to a song from Encanto, which they performed with great confidence and enthusiasm.
Gardening Day at Holy Family
Everyone at Holy Family had a fantastic time taking part in our whole-school Gardening Day yesterday! It was wonderful to see every class getting involved and working together to make our outdoor spaces even more beautiful. Throughout the day, pupils rolled up their sleeves to weed beds, plant new flowers, and water the gardens, helping to brighten up our already wonderful surroundings. Their enthusiasm and teamwork truly brought the school grounds to life.
Well Done, Year 6!
A huge well done to all of our Year 6 children for completing their SATs this week! 📝⏳ Throughout the week, they have shown fantastic resilience and determination, approaching each challenge with positivity and focus. We are incredibly proud of the effort they have put in and the way they have supported one another every step of the way. Their hard work and encouragement towards each other has truly been wonderful to see.
STEM Fun at Holy Family: Inspiring Our Future Engineers
This week, our Year 5 pupils at Holy Family had an exciting opportunity to take part in a hands-on STEM event—and what a fantastic experience it was! Throughout the day, the children immersed themselves in a variety of engaging activities designed around Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). From creative problem-solving challenges to practical experiments, every activity encouraged curiosity, teamwork and innovation.
Year 1 Enjoy Outdoor Den Building Fun
