Year 5 Trip to Eden Camp!
Today, our Year 5 pupils are heading to Eden Camp Modern History Museum for an exciting day of immersive learning and exploration. Eden Camp, located in North Yorkshire, is a unique museum set within the buildings of an original Second World War prisoner‑of‑war camp. It brings history to life through interactive displays, recreated scenes, and real artefacts from the 20th century.
Football Fun at Holy Family
Well done to our fantastic Holy Family football team who took part in a brilliant sporting event this week, joining pupils from 18 other Darlington schools. Our children played with determination, enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of teamwork, representing our school with pride throughout the day.
Celebrating World Book Day at Holy Family!
World Book Day is always a highlight in our school calendar, and this year was no exception! Our theme for 2026 was “Future Me”—a wonderful opportunity for children to explore their dreams and imagine who they might become as adults.

Year 3 Get Creative with Stone Age House Designs!
This week, our talented Year 3 pupils took part in a wonderfully creative lesson, diving into history by designing and building their very own Stone Age houses. The children loved exploring how people lived thousands of years ago and used their imagination to bring the Stone Age to life through hands‑on making and model building.
A Special Visit from Darlington Police
Reception Class and Nursery at Holy Family were delighted to welcome Sergeant Vardy and PCSO Parker from Darlington Police for a very special visit. The officers spoke to the children about the important role the police play in keeping communities safe and explained how they help people every day.
Autumn Fun in Nursery
Nursery children at Holy Family have been making the most of the autumn season with plenty of outdoor exploration and seasonal activities. Pupils enjoyed spending time in the school garden and woodland areas, where they were delighted to discover pumpkins growing in their very own pumpkin patch. The excitement continued at snack time with a tasty treat of homemade pumpkin soup, a perfect way to celebrate the harvest.
An Inspiring Day at Destination STEM
Year 5 and Year 6 at Holy Family enjoyed an inspiring and educational visit to Hopetown, Darlington, where they took part in the exciting Destination STEM event. The day provided pupils with the opportunity to explore a wide range of hands‑on activities linked to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
A Joyful Start with Our Welcome Mass
Earlier this term, the Holy Family community came together in Holy Family Church for a very special Welcome Mass led by Father Kevin. This celebration is a cherished tradition, bringing children, families, and staff together to begin the school year with prayer and reflection.
