Learning About the Role of the Police
Year 5 pupils at Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Darlington have recently been taking part in the Mini Police Project, a joint initiative run by Durham Agency Against Crime and Durham Constabulary.
Over the last few weeks, the children have thoroughly enjoyed participating in a series of engaging sessions designed to help them learn more about the important work carried out by police officers and the positive role they play within local communities.
Hands-On Experiences and Valuable Lessons
Throughout the project, pupils explored the roles and responsibilities of the police, gained an insight into police vehicles and learned about how anti-social behaviour can affect both individuals and the wider community.
The interactive sessions encouraged discussion, curiosity and a greater understanding of how everyone can contribute to creating safer and more respectful communities.
Building Knowledge and Community Awareness
The Mini Police Project provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to develop their understanding of community responsibility while learning about the important partnerships that help keep people safe.
The children embraced each session with enthusiasm and represented the school brilliantly throughout the programme.
